Waxing Crescent Ritual

Tonight, Grandmother Moon is growing brighter.

Night by night, her light returns to the sky. The waxing moon is a time for growth, intention and becoming — for giving our energy to the things we want to strengthen and carry forward.

Find somewhere quiet. Sit beneath the night sky if you can, or somewhere you feel calm and connected.

If you have a candle, light it.

Take three slow breaths.

Think of one thing you would like to grow in your life during this cycle. It might be courage, healing, connection, creativity, opportunity, or something you have been quietly working towards.

Hold that intention in your mind.

Say quietly:

“As Grandmother Moon grows, so do I.
I give strength to what I am becoming.
I trust what is growing, even before I can see it.”

Sit quietly for a moment.

Look toward Grandmother Moon and notice the light she has gained since the new moon.

Not everything grows quickly. Not everything needs to.

Some things begin quietly, beneath the surface, before they are ready to be seen.

Closing 🌙

Thank you, Ningimpi Withi — Grandmother Moon.
Thank you for reminding us that growth comes little by little.
Watch over us, our ancestors and those yet to come.
Until we meet beneath your light again.
