Tonight, Grandmother Moon is full.
Her light has reached its peak.
For this ritual, you will choose one intention and give it your full attention beneath the light of the full moon.
You will need:
-
A small bowl or glass of water
-
A piece of paper
-
A pen
-
Somewhere outside beneath the night sky
Pour the water into your bowl and place it where the moonlight can reach it.
Sit beside it.
Before you write anything, ask yourself:
What do I want to give my energy to from this moment forward?
Choose only one thing.
Be specific.
Instead of “I want happiness,” you might write:
“I am creating a home that feels peaceful.”
Instead of “I want success,” write what success actually means to you.
“I am building something that supports my family and makes me proud.”
Instead of “I want confidence,” write:
“I trust myself to make decisions without constantly questioning my worth.”
Write your intention on the paper.
Read it once silently.
Then read it aloud beneath Grandmother Moon.
Place the paper underneath the bowl of water.
Put both hands around the bowl and take three slow breaths.
On the final breath, say:
“Ningimpi Withi, Grandmother Moon,
beneath your fullest light, I name what I am calling forward.
May I give my energy to what strengthens this intention.
May I recognise the opportunities that move me towards it.
May I have the courage to act when they appear.
What I ask of the moon, I must also ask of myself.”
Leave the water beneath the moonlight while you sit quietly for a few minutes.
Then pick up your piece of paper.
This next part matters.
Underneath your intention, write:
“Tomorrow, I will…”
Finish the sentence with one real action you can take within the next 24 hours.
However small.
Make the phone call.
Send the email.
Put aside the money.
Begin the application.
Have the conversation.
Create the first page.
Take the first step.
Fold the paper and keep it somewhere you will see it tomorrow.
Take the bowl of water outside and slowly pour it onto the earth.
As the water returns to Country, say:
“My intention has been spoken.
Now I give it action.”
Closing 🌕
Look once more toward Grandmother Moon.
Thank you, Ningimpi Withi — Grandmother Moon.
For illuminating what I am ready to give my energy to.
May I walk with intention until we meet beneath your fullest light again.
And tomorrow —
do the thing you wrote down.
Because intention begins beneath the moon.
But we are the ones who must carry it forward.
Ningimpi Withi
